Precedent Paralegal is licensed and regulated by the Law Society of Upper Canada, the organization that licenses Lawyers and Paralegals in Ontario.

Paralegals in Ontario are allowed to provide legal services in the following areas:

• Representation in Small Claims Court
• Representation in the Ontario Court of Justice, for charges under the Provincial Offences Act
• Criminal summary conviction offences where the maximum penalty does not exceed six month’s imprisonment or a maximum fine of $5000.00
• Matters before an Administrative Tribunal or Board
• Licensed paralegals are Commissioners for Taking Affidavits (swearing oaths)
